In TCM, the ear is viewed as a microsystem of the entire body—often described as resembling an upside-down fetus—meaning specific points on the ear correspond to different organs and functions.

How It Works

  • Our Auriculotherapy Press Magnets

    Auriculotherapy helps regulate the nervous system, relieve pain, and ease stress and anxiety by stimulating specific points on the ear.

    This stimulation can be done using acupuncture needles, press needles, or press magnets (ear seeds) for continued support after your visit.

    At Nu Wave Acupuncture, we use titanium press magnets as ear seeds. These magnets provide gentle, continuous stimulation to the selected points, helping extend the benefits of your treatment beyond the clinic.

    They can also be used in remote-style treatments or on body points when appropriate.

  • Your Treatment: NADA Protocol (Single Ear)

    For this add-on, we use a one-ear application of the NADA protocol, a well-known auriculotherapy protocol designed to support: nervous system regulation, emotional balance, PTSD, anxiety, stress reduction, cravings and recovery support.

    This protocol includes five specific ear points: Sympathetic, Shen Men, Kidney, Liver, and Lung—working together to promote calm, balance, and resilience.

  • How to Use Your Ear Seeds

    To get the most benefit from your press magnets: Gently press or squeeze each point 7 times in the morning and 7 times at night.

    You may also stimulate them anytime during the day for additional support. Mild tenderness is normal and can indicate the point is active.

  • Safety & Aftercare

    - Some discomfort may occur—this can be normal

    - Remove the magnets if discomfort lasts longer than 12 hours or if they shift out of place

    - Redness or irritation may develop after several days

    If this occurs, remove the magnets and allow 24–48 hours for the skin to return to normal
