Build a Practice That Thrives - The Business of Acupuncture
Private Practice Mentorship with Sasha Bruno, Licensed Acupuncturist & Founder of Nu Wave Acupuncture
Building a successful acupuncture practice takes more than clinical knowledge. It takes business strategy, creativity, persistence, and a willingness to figure things out along the way. Yet, the business side of private practice is something we're rarely taught in school.
Having built my own practice from the ground up, I understand the challenges, decisions, and growing pains that come with turning your clinical training into a thriving business. I created these mentorship sessions to share what I've learned and help other acupuncturists navigate their own paths with greater clarity, confidence, and direction.
No rigid curriculum. No one-size-fits-all advice. Just personalized, experience-based mentorship centered around YOU, your business, and where you want to go.
A little about my journey
My entrepreneurial experience began long before I opened Nu Wave Acupuncture. After founding and selling my own business, I brought that business experience into the acupuncture profession, knowing firsthand how much goes into building something of your own.
While attending acupuncture school, I began working in a large acupuncture clinic in Miami Beach. I knew early on that I wanted to create my own wellness space: a welcoming, thoughtfully designed environment where practitioners and patients could thrive.
After becoming licensed in 2022, I opened Nu Wave Acupuncture in 2023 with two treatment rooms and a small waiting area. Starting with just 1–3 bookings per week, I grew the practice to a fully booked schedule within four months, working three days per week. By 2025, I had expanded into a space three times the size of the original.
Today, Nu Wave averages approximately $14K in monthly revenue, with a clinical schedule of 20–30 patients per week while maintaining a three-day workweek.
Along the way, I've navigated everything from insurance credentialing and pricing structures to marketing, website development, patient acquisition, retention, and practice expansion. I want to share that experience with other practitioners so you don't have to figure it all out alone.
Mentorship built around you.
Whether you're preparing to open your first practice, trying to get more patients through the door, or looking to take an established clinic to the next level, our time together is centered entirely around your needs.
Bring your questions, your ideas, your challenges, and even the things you're not sure how to approach. We'll focus on what's most relevant to your goals, identify opportunities, work through obstacles, and develop practical strategies you can put into action.
Some of the areas we can explore include:
Starting and launching a private practice
Business planning, budgeting, and choosing a location
Pricing structures, packages, and service offerings
Insurance credentialing and cash-based business models
Website creation, branding, and marketing
Patient acquisition, retention, and building a consistent schedule
Revenue growth and increasing profitability
Expanding your practice, space, or services
Creating a business that supports your ideal lifestyle
Best for those pursuing private practice
These sessions are for acupuncturists and Chinese Medicine practitioners who:
Are preparing to open their own private practice or already have their own.
Have recently graduated and aren't sure where to start on the business side.
Are struggling to attract patients or establish consistent bookings.
Want to increase revenue without necessarily increasing clinical hours.
Are considering accepting insurance or transitioning to a different business model.
Have an established practice and are ready to grow, expand, or refine their operations.
Let’s help you expand your business and succeed.
I believe acupuncturists deserve to build practices that are as rewarding financially as they are professionally. We spend years learning how to care for others, and truly love what we do, but often spend very little time learning how to build and sustain a business of our own (especially in school).
The good news - you don't have to figure it all out through trial and error, because I already did! I'm here to share what I've learned, help you navigate the challenges, and give you the confidence and tools to build a practice of your own.
