Cosmetic Acupuncture

Cosmetic acupuncture is a gentle, non-invasive treatment designed to support healthy, radiant skin by improving circulation, reducing inflammation, and stimulating natural collagen production. Often used to address concerns such as acne, rosacea, uneven tone, and fine lines, this treatment works with your body to promote clearer, smoother skin over time.

We have Cosmetic Acupuncture available as an add-on service to your Comprehensive Acupuncture sessions to enhance results and provide targeted support for your skin.

Facial and Cosmetic Acupuncture for Acne, Complexion, and Fine Lines

Best for facial rejuvenation, fine lines, wrinkles, acne scarring, rosacea, Bell’s Palsy, eczema, psoriasis, and more.

Acupuncture regulates the autonomic nervous system, promoting natural relaxation and healing of the body, mind and spirit. During sessions, the body is induced into relaxation to reduce the physiological effects of stress and elevated cortisol levels. At Nu Wave Acupuncture, sessions may include facial cupping, facial gua sha, red light therapy, and aromatherapy. This allows for detoxification, regeneration of collagen, and a reduction in inflammation. Common conditions include acne scarring, rosacea, dry skin, eczema, psoriasis, bell’s palsy, and more. For more on dermatological issues effecting the face, see ‘Digestion and Skin Health’.

*Cosmetic acupuncture provides various benefits for the skin and appearance, including:

  1. Improved Skin Texture: improves blood circulation and stimulates collagen production, which could lead to smoother and more youthful-looking skin.

  2. Wrinkle Reduction: reduces the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles by promoting collagen and elastin production, which are essential for skin elasticity.

  3. Facial Rejuvenation: natural alternative to more invasive cosmetic procedures, such as Botox or facelifts, for achieving a refreshed and revitalized appearance.

  4. Stress Reduction: stress reduction can contribute to improved skin health and a more youthful appearance.

  5. Acne and Skin Conditions: promotes overall balance within the body and targets specific points and areas for scarring or redness.

*Cosmetic acupuncture for the face is available as an add-on service when booking.

How Cosmetic Acupuncture Works

Cosmetic acupuncture is performed using very fine, hair-thin needles placed gently in targeted areas of the face. These micro-stimulations help increase circulation, support collagen production, and promote natural skin repair.

As an add-on, the treatment is seamlessly incorporated into your session and typically takes an additional 15–20 minutes. Your practitioner will focus on your specific skin concerns—such as acne, redness, or overall complexion—while ensuring the treatment remains relaxing and supportive.

For best results, treatments are typically recommended once per week for a series of 6–10 sessions, followed by occasional maintenance treatments depending on your goals. Many patients notice a healthy glow after each visit, with more gradual improvements in skin clarity, tone, and texture over time.
