Sasha Bruno is a dedicated, compassionate Acupuncturist in Gahanna, Ohio. She is board certified by the National Certification Board for Acupuncture and Herbal Medicine (NCBAHM) and a Licensed Acupuncturist in Ohio. She has a Master’s degree in Acupuncture from the American Institute of Alternative Medicine in Columbus, OH.

She has been in the health and wellness field for 14 years and carries 10 years of specialized study and practice in Traditional Chinese Medicine. Sasha uses her expertise and unique, multi-faceted approach to provide results focused holistic care through Acupuncture and TCM. Her innate passion and dedication to holistic healing paired with her avid problem solving are at the heart of her treatments.

Sasha has relied on natural remedies and herbal medicine since she was a teenager, always preferring a non-pharmaceutical option for any health concern she had. She was introduced to Acupuncture and TCM when she was 22 and never looked back. The medicine offered her natural, medication free solutions for her chronic migraines, hormonal imbalances, chronic fatigue, social anxiety, depression, IBS, neck and shoulder pain, and more throughout her life.

Sasha founded and created her dream clinic, Nu Wave Acupuncture, in 2023 and expanded the clinic and team in 2025. She enjoys working collaboratively with each individual to address and treat their unique conditions holistically with this medicine. Sasha is also a certified NSEV practitioner, allowing her to use a unique and powerful subfield of TCM in her treatments to provide deep, long lasting results.

Outside of her practice, Sasha enjoys spending time with her two Bengal cats, yoga and staying active, exploring human origins, design, fashion, movies, and traveling with her husband.

Background

Sasha’s journey began as early as her teenage years when she began exploring yoga and natural remedies. From a young age, her yoga practice, connection to self and nature, affinity for eastern philosophies, and exploration of herbal remedies and nutrition led her to the path of holistic healing. Sasha first discovered acupuncture in 2015 while working with supplements and clean body care at Whole Foods Market. Her coworker suffering from Lupus mentioned acupuncture was the only thing that helped her condition. This opened her eyes to the holistic healing power of Eastern & Chinese Medicine for all conditions and ailments, including autoimmune and complex conditions. She then tried it for herself and was instantly in love. Since then, she has turned to Chinese Medicine for all of her conditions and ailments and has continued to help many others find relief through this medicine.

In 2014, she received her BA degree in Anthropology from Boston University and began graduate school shortly after. During her Master’s degree program, she apprenticed and trained at the NSEV Healing and Acupuncture clinic in Miami Beach, FL while managing the adjacent Chinese herbal pharmacy, Orion Herbs. There, she witnessed the transformative impact of acupuncture and herbal medicine on a wide range of conditions. Patients were as young as 2 years old and conditions were as complex as cancer and heart disease.

In 2017, she relocated to Ohio and continued her education while running her first small business, Botanibites, a paleo functional food snack company specializing in herbal mini muffins. In 2021, she sold her business and completed her Master’s degree. In 2023, Nu Wave Acupuncture opened in Gahanna, Ohio. In 2025, Sasha expanded her clinic to its current Suite and created the holistic healing center of her dreams.

Her mission is to modernize the ancient wisdom of Chinese Medicine, bring balance and peace to our human experience, and empower others to heal naturally. Throughout her life, she has also witnessed the unforeseen, negative effects that can occur with long term dependence on medications and aims to show others natural, holistic methods that are just as effective, without side effects. Sasha’s dedication to holistic care and her personalized, results-driven approach make her a trusted partner in her patients’ health journeys.
